About

Alcoa, the quintessential factory town in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, has become synonymous with the high-end production of metal. During the first world war it was aluminum. Today, it’s gridiron. Home to 18 Tennessee state championships, Alcoa High School is one of the top football programs in the country, with alumni and NFL standouts such as Randall Cobb and Shannon Mitchell. Meet the coaches who drive the success of the team and the players who give us a glimpse into what it takes to be the best. This season, in the midst of a global pandemic and racial tensions at fever pitch, football faces more challenges than ever before. The Alcoa Tornadoes are about to embark on the “Season that Saved Football.”
